Today's Health Tip:

Don't Like Whole Wheat Pasta? Try Enriched!

Many people find the taste of whole wheat pasta to be, well, bad. There are some great alternatives in the enriched pasta category, such as the Barilla Pasta Plus, which is made of a mix of different types of beans and grains and packed with fiber and omega-3s.

One four ounce serving of this pasta has 20 grams of protein, and 8 grams of fiber! For only 400 calories. The best part is the taste is virtually identical to regular pasta. I consider myself a very picky eater and I can't tell the difference.

You can usually find these products right next to the whole wheat pasta at your grocery store, the price is generally going to be a little bit higher than normal pasta, but your body will thank you for it.

Davesworkout Site Updates:

Recent Site Updates.
Date/Time :Wednesday March 3rd, 2010 8:55 pm
Well, I have been back hard at work on the site lately. I recently added an option to sign up using Facebook Connect, where you can sign up for a user account using one click of a button (check it out just under the logo on the top of the site).

I also updated the look of the blog system a little, added some more statistics, and in general have been fixing lots of things behind the scenes.

Keep an eye out for more facebook features popping up throughout the site - and don't forget to check out the message forums, I'd love to start getting a little activity there....
Recipe To Food Log Added.
Date/Time :Thursday August 27th, 2009 9:54 pm
I added a little icon when browsing the recipes that allows you to add a recipe to your food log. The recipes will also show up in any searches you do in the food log as well. So if you are trying to add a new food to your log, you can do it via the add recipe feature, then add it to your log directly to save the trouble of having to add the individual ingredients every time you log the food.
Menus Fixed.
Date/Time :Tuesday August 25th, 2009 7:35 pm
Well, there was apparently some sort of issue with the drop down menus and internet explorer. Hopefully this has been remedied, if you have any issues let me know HERE
Social News System Updated.
Date/Time :Thursday August 20th, 2009 10:29 pm
Sorry the site has been erratic all day, I did a major overhaul of the social news feature which required rebuilding some databases and some pretty CPU-intensive stuff. The news feature now takes a snapshot of each article it indexes, and I have completely redesigned the layout. There are still a few kinks in the system but I should be working them out over the next few days.
Exercise Logs Open To General Public As Well.
Date/Time :Monday August 10th, 2009 4:27 pm
I have enabled the exercise logs for all users, guest or not. You will need to register to use some of the more advanced features, but as a guest you can still enter your daily exercise and see how many calories you have burned.
Food Log Open To Guest Users Now.
Date/Time :Sunday August 9th, 2009 5:44 pm
Hey guest users, if you don't want to register, you can still use the food log in a limited capacity. You won't be able to use the advanced analysis features, but you can still enter all the foods you ate for the day, and see how you are looking as far as your nutrient intake. As a guest users , your logs will only be saved during your current visit, however if you register, they are stored indefinitely.
Recipe Database Added!
Date/Time :Thursday July 30th, 2009 7:37 pm
I have officially put the recipe database online, it is quite powerful - You can enter your own recipes (if you are a registered user), and they will be included in a future feature - A "weekly meal planner" which will give you a full menu for the week for well-rounded nutrition based on your personal needs as well as a complete shopping list for that trip to the grocery store. I will be adding new recipes as I have time, feel free to jump in and help!
Slowly Upgrading The Site.
Date/Time :Thursday July 2nd, 2009 9:56 pm
I will be upgrading the look and features of the site over the next few weeks. I will be adding quite a few new features, including some interaction with facebook and such, so people can brag about their exercise/eating habits to their friends.
The Site Is Back!
Date/Time :Friday January 9th, 2009 7:40 pm
Sorry, the site was down for a few days while I upgraded computers. Let me know if there are any issues.
New Article Retreival System
Date/Time :Wednesday December 17th, 2008 10:02 pm
I have made some cosmetic changes to the article library, you can check it out HERE. I have decided to add articles by other authors into the library as well, I will be limiting those to well written, educational articles - none of the spam you tend to find in internet article directories.

I will continue to write more articles for the site as well, I just want to get more quality content on the site.
